Sarah Henson is a 16 year old dedicated flag football player. She fell in love with the sport and has not let go of her passion since then.
For her love of flag football I decided to interview her and learn more about how and why she loves flag football.
Sarah is not only on the flag football team for Ronald Reagan Senior High, she is also a member of the Bison color- guard.
“I found out about flag football from my friend Nicole Ulowicz, she had told me to come to try outs to see if I would enjoy the practices. We did some plays and everyone on the team is very open, they’re nice and supportive. Just like a family, a herd.” She answered.  Her love for flag football has grown ever since being on the team. She says her teammates aren’t only her friends and peers, they are a family.
“My position is lineman on defense starter. I love my position because it is a very selective starter in such a big team. You have to play your hardest and give it all you got even in practices because it’s an example of how you’re gonna play out in the field.”
Her passion drives her to work harder and push her limits; she enjoys spending her free time improving her football abilities.
“It always has my adrenaline pumping and keeps me focused, that’s one of the reasons why I’m driven to love my sport. What makes me love flag football also comes in with the team I am in. You can’t do flag football on your own. It’s made me closer to my friends and has made me more disciplined. Whenever I play and pull someone’s flag, it gives me the satisfaction and confidence I’ve always loved.”
Sarah ever since learning of the sport has not let go of the adrenaline pumping game. She loves what she does and loves how well she does it.
“I just started playing flag football, but I sure do plan on staying for the rest of my high school years.”
Sarah will continue playing for as long as she can. She’s a hard working girl, a lover of sports, and a hell of a good lineman defense starter.
